Charis is the Scientific Director of the European Network for Smoking and tobacco Prevention. She has more than ten-year experience in Cancer policy and tobacco control, European and International projects management and has worked with a wide range of key players and stakeholders, including NGOs, European and governmental institutions, academia, health services, local authorities.

Previous to this position, she worked for three years as the EU Affairs Manager and Interim Director of the European Cancer Patient Coalition.

Charis graduated from Chemistry Department, University of Crete, Greece. She holds a Master’s degree in Public Health and Healthcare Management specialized in Epidemiology and a PhD from Medical School, University of Crete, Greece.

She is also a certified Tobacco Dependance Treatment Trainer from Mayo Clinic, US.
